The Project
Impressions from the project process
The Midfield Terminal Complex is the ultimate in construction sites: in order to maintain the tight construction schedule, PERI planned and delivered the formwork and scaffolding systems, and has provided yet another convincing performance through the competent engineering service and provision of huge quantities of materials at short notice.
Over 6,000 PD 8 slab tables are in continuous use which is the equivalent to an area of almost 10 football pitches.
The massive beams are being constructed in one pour together with the slabs – with the help of strong load-bearing PD 8 slab tables and lightweight LIWA elements as side formwork.
Moveable PD 8 slab tables form the load-bearing sub-structure along the beams; for the slabs, MULTIFLEX girder slab formwork is used.
Easy lateral transport: the PD 8 slab tables can be moved by hand by means of a transportation trolley. This reduces crane requirements quite considerably.
PD 8 is the proven shoring system for slab tables and accommodates high loads. With only two different frame heights, almost any required height can be realized.
In order to process over 1,000 m³ every day, huge numbers of personnel and material are required.
For forming the up to 12.50 m high reinforced concrete walls, VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork provides a maximum level of adaptability through the variable arrangement of lattice girders, steel walers and tie positions.
PERI is supporting the fast construction progress with over 6,000 slab tables as well as comprehensive formwork solutions, also for the walls and columns. As of 2017, up to 30 million passengers will be handled annually.
