PERI Student Day: Shaping the Future of the Construction Industry

At PERI, we believe in investing in the future by engaging with the next generation of construction professionals. This July, we hosted our annual PERI Student Day, inviting students from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ) to our facilities. The event was a resounding success, offering students an inside look at our operations and the opportunities within the construction industry.

Event Highlights

The day began with an introduction and opening remarks, followed by a discussion on corporate culture and the talent pipeline. This session highlighted the values that make PERI an attractive place for future employment, emphasizing our commitment to fostering a positive and dynamic work environment.

Students were then introduced to our technical software and tools, giving them a glimpse into the innovative technologies that drive our projects. This was followed by a presentation on architectural concrete, showcasing the versatility and aesthetic possibilities of this essential building material.

After a short refreshment break, representatives from industry association bodies provided insights into the broader construction landscape, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and continuous learning.

Our hands-on product handling and activities session allowed students to engage directly with our equipment, gaining practical experience and understanding of our formwork systems. This was followed by a tour of the PERI Yard, where students saw firsthand the scale and sophistication of our operations.

The day concluded with a networking lunch that provided ample opportunity for students to connect with our team and each other.
